ON JULY 9TH, SHINSAKU MIYAMOTO, DESIGNER AND CREATIVE DIRECTOR OF THE JAPANESE BRAND RITZWELL, WAS HONORED WITH THE RED DOT DESIGN AWARD BEST OF THE BEST CATEGORY.
The prize was awarded by the prestigious German organisation to the sideboard Jabara AV Board during the gala evening at the Aalto Theatre in Essen, Germany.
For the attribution of this prize, the international jury selected 80 products among the more than 5.000 submissions made to the contest from douzens of different countries. The criteria that guided their choice were those of innovation, functionality, ergonomics and longevity. To the Jabara AV Board, designed by Shinsaku Miyamoto, in particular, was acknowledged for the qualities described in the commission's official motivation: "In an attractive way, this sideboard offers the possibility to both hide and present things. With its purist form and clear proportions, it perfectly embodies the maxims of contemporary design, projecting a delightful composition of selected materials and a filigree-looking construction. Thanks to its well-harmonised colour concept, the Jabara AV Board can also seamlessly integrate into the interiors of young target groups".
The Jabara AV Board is now exhibited at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, featured on the organisation's website and app and it is included in the Red Dot yearbook too.
