LOCATED WITHIN KYOTO'S HISTORIC MARUYAMA PARK, BAR KUN IS AN EXCLUSIVE VENUE ACCESSIBLE DESIGNED BY YOSHIHARA-GUMI AND HELMED BY LEGENDARY BARTENDER MINORU NISHIDA.
The space is connected to the KOCHI gallery and opens onto an inner courtyard inspired by the flow of water. Here, seasonal trees and an imposing stone slab from Fukushima create a refined dialogue between nature and architecture, also visible from inside the bar. In this quiet and evocative setting, Ritzwell seating was chosen for its impeccable comfort and the refined beauty of its rear profile, helping to define an intimate and harmonious atmosphere. The selected model is the CLAUDE ARMCHAIR, distinguished by the sculptural workmanship of its armrests and the essential lines of its legs. The robust yet understated design embodies a sense of tranquility and contemplation, perfectly in tune with the bar’s atmosphere. The chairs blend seamlessly with the surrounding architecture and landscape, and are especially appreciated for balancing aesthetics with comfort. With only 14 seats and a minimalist menu, the bar was conceived to offer a private, profound experience, where every detail—from furnishings to lighting—contributes to a ritual of contemplation and stillness.
